Meet K&A Wooden Creations

Our Story

K&A Wooden Creations is a small, woman-owned and operated woodworking business located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We specialize in crafting high-quality, custom wood floating shelves and fireplace mantels that serve as stunning statement pieces in any home.

Our journey began in 2019  when we were adding some finishing touches to our builder grade home. Frustrated by the high cost and low quality of the builder's materials, we decided to take matters into our own hands. With our existing tools and know-how, we designed and built a custom built-in for our great room, complete with stonework, cabinets, floating shelves and a fireplace mantel. The finished product garnered so much admiration from friends and family that it sparked a new passion.

Around the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and Paula, our founder, lost her job in the travel insurance industry. Always dreaming of entrepreneurship, she saw an opportunity to turn her woodworking skills into a business.  She started small, crafting shelves and other pieces for friends and family, and soon, her creations were in high demand.

Taking a leap of faith, Paula began selling her work online through platforms like Marketplace and Kijiji. Within months, her hobby blossomed into a thriving business.  We named our company K&A Wooden Creations after our children, Kaelyn and Asher, making it a true family affair.

Now in our fifth year of business we're incredibly grateful for the support we've received from the Winnipeg community. We're excited to continue creating beautiful and functional pieces for homes across Manitoba and beyond.
